- My wife loves her oven and uses it often. And well. Very well.
- Ovens do not factor into Chinese cuisine, and therefore, ovens do not factor largely into Chinese small appliance sales.
- The two sizes of ovens that ARE sold are: small and EZ-Bake (aka. extra-large) - we splurged and bought the EZ-Bake edition.
The door on our oven broke, allowing it to flop open haphazardly. While it may look like, how to say, a cheap excuse for a real oven, we actually looked long and hard to find the biggest, nicest oven we could. In a city bigger than New York City. Now that we live in a "quaint mountain town," replacing it isn't really an option. Thus my shift into repair-mode.
| Come on, let us have a peak inside |
The lever arm and spring that hold the door open had snapped, but luckily most of the pieces were still inside.
Unfortunately, the bolt that held the door to the spring was not to be found and spare parts aren't to be found here, so I had to make a replacement.
Is that top knob dedicated to the baking of tomatoes?
ReplyDeleteactually the whole thing is for baking tomatoes....that's why it's called a tomato oven.
ReplyDeleteWell done. I actually dismantled our EZ bake last week as well and finally fixed the spring in so-called "thermostat." Before, it wouldn't even get warm enough to bake tomatoes, but now it actually gets hot enough to burn toast.
